Son and I refurbished and refilled an existing bird feeder and added a couple more. We haven’t had much so far besides a starlings and sparrows. The other day we a bunch of cardinals showed up. We had so many we had to step in and organize things a little to make sure that everybody got fed.

Wow! That’s a boatload of Cardinals! We have gone through a lot of bird feeders that claim to be squirrel proof. I’ve kind of given up and hate to admit that the squirrels are pretty funny to watch!

Beautiful pictures of the cardinals – but the squirrels look like trouble! They broke the peanut feeder in my garden but they don’t seem to bother with the seeds luckily 🙂
That’s what happened when I tried to feed the birds, Yogi! I had to stop because of those awful squirrels! 🙁
There is no known way to keep a squirrel out of a bird feeder. They are clever little fellows. Actually, they are entertaining enough that I tolerate them.
To bribe them I have an easy access squirrel feeder loaded with field corn which helps. Also I have multiple bird feeders. There are a lot more birds than there are birds.

Yogi – Lucky you to have so many cardinals. I think you’re going to need LOTS more seed though – for the party crashers!
Well I’m envious, I’ve never had that many cardinals at my feeders at one time. I’m one of those people who love the squirrel visitors as much as the birds but they sure do go through the seed.
I haven’t seen any carnals at my feeders yet this year. Our feeders don’t get hit by squirels because of where we have them set but they do eat the seed that falls on the ground. Cute pics.
