Sooner Schooner

20101214_19

A replica of the wagon that the University of Oklahoma uses whenever Oklahoma’s beloved Sooners play football.

Check out the video below.

To be honest, the Sooners are beloved by only half the state. The other half cheers for the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.

I am not a native of Oklahoma and didn’t go to either school so I cheer for both teams. When they play each other all I want is a good game.

Who is your team? What traditions do they have.

My team is the Florida State University Seminoles who unfortunately lost to Oklahoma this year 🙁 We have some great traditions and my favorite is Chief Osceola riding his Appaloosa Renegade while planting his flaming spear in the middle of the football field before all of our home games. It really gets the crowd going!

Well, I must say that since I went to UCLA as did my mother and brother (they actually graduated) I root for the bruins. Now that I live in Northern California where most are Cal Bear fans, I best not be too vocal about it.

We’re a divided household here. I’m the ‘Pokes fan. I have to say I cringed when I read your description of the Cowboys. You see, several years ago that bah-humbug of a man attempted a take-over of the oil company that has put a roof over my head and food on my table for 57 years.

Fun post as always, but have to admit, I’m not a football fan — I know, I know, just another oddball! What can I say??? Hope your week is off to a great start!
