On the banks of the Oklahoma River (aka North Canadian River) near downtown Oklahoma City sits the Chesapeake Boathouse.
It is designed by architect Rand Elliott to look like a racing shell with oars.

I don’t see a racing shell here. A row of flagless flagpoles maybe but not oars. I guess I have no imagination.
Phew, I’m glad you were man enough to own up to that Bill – I’m with you, me neither!!!! However, I do like the building, rather different subject to Yogi’s earlier post of Tulsa’s hanging tree.
Interesting building but I must admit, I don’t see oars…just poles.

Very dramatic image of this building. I agree that they look like poles – in fact, at first I thought they were flag poles.

It is quite interesting–I thought they might be flag poles when I saw the thumbnail.
Who am I to judge but I’m going to anyway.
That’s just silly looking.
To me it looks out of place there…but I can’t see any of the surrounding buildings so I could be totally wrong about that.
That is a very interesing structure but the name and the function don’t fit with my idea of OK.
I’m and architect and I have to agree with Bill and those that fail to see the oars. I don’t know, maybe there is too much imagery and not enough design. Well, whatever floats your boat…so to speak.
