Them Texans sure like to fly their state flags. They fly them more than the US flags it seems sometimes. In downtown San Antonio they were flying the Texas A&M University flag also.
I’ve had a few questions from people who don’t know what Aggies are. Texas A&M is a large state run university based in College Station, Texas with branches throughout the state. It is a great school with outstanding programs in a number of fields including Engineering and Agriculture. They are well known for their Corps of Cadets which supplies the United States Army with a great number of officers.
The students are known as Aggies. Aggie jokes are a staple of humor in Texas.

Yes, only place you see the Ok flag flown is at car dealerships and government places. In Texas, the lone star flies from private homes galore.
The only “state flag” you see flying here is that red one with two white initials on it.

What’s and “aggie” moon?
The eyes of Texas are upon you…
That’s a song I learnt long ago from a Texan friend! Thanks for your visit. There are so many windmills because they had to pump away all the water out of the polder to prevent us from drowning, for we live below sealevel. Of course they don’t work any more, we have now an electric mill. The windmills are from around 1740 or even older. At that time they were needed very often. I have explained everything in a post some time ago. You can find it in Google too. The mills can work any time in case the electric mill fails to work properly.
Nice shot. It’s good to be proud of your state, your school, your country, etc. Flying a flag is a great way to show that pride. I am always impressed with the cadets and how “sharp” they look. Have a terrific weekend. Mickie 🙂

Great photo. I’ve got a neighbor who’s an Aggie. He flies his A&M banner during football season. I fly my OU banner. It’s great fun.
Texas is not only beautiful, some of the nicest people I know are Texans. They are generous and loving people. Oh, and my nephew was born in Texas while his dad/my brother was there in the USAF. We’ve called him Tex all his life. 🙂
I (heart) Texas A&M and almost went to college there. It is sooooo much more than a state run university. The traditions there are amazing and the band will give you goosebumps.
The only time I don’t cheer for the Aggies is when they play my Sooners. But I’m never sad when we lose to A&M, either. I really love them THAT MUCH.

I think the Texan flag is known worldwide for a reason! Although it kind of look like the Chilean flag (but don’t tell Texans).
