Signs – Delacroix Corp.

I’ve been walking a lot around New Orleans the last couple days. I found a few caches and took lots of photographs.

I noticed that on consecutive days I took photographs of this building, labelled Delacroix Corp.,

I just love the building. First the green color. I love that green, and the big windows. Second the silvery letters for the sign with the two different fonts, part script and part block letters, and the rakish angle in the Delacroix. It’s written with flair, and then the down to earth Corp.

Third, the mysteriousness of it, Who knows what Delacroix does? I mean its not a restaurant, nor a tshirt shop. They don’t have a web site but they have a some sort of mysterious connection to the oil and gas business. The president of the firm is a third degree connection to me in Linked In. The ground floor windows are glass blocks.

What’s going on in there?

I just love the French Quarter. It has its secrets.

I imagine you don’t have to walk far around New Orleans to find something interesting to photograph. Well, if Delacroix Corp wants to be secretive, that green building sure makes it stand out.

Glass blocks on the first floor and it appears there are bars on the door, too. Very mysterious. 🙂 You could write to the person on LinkedIn, I guess, huh?

I, too, am fascinated by the building. It looks so vintage with it signage and color. No wonder you went back again to study it. Those glass blocks in the lower windows are the one thing I find to detract from the overall interest of the building.Nice little NOLA street. genie

I, too, am fascinated by the creating. It looks so traditional with it symptoms and colour. No wonder you went coming back again to analysis it. Those cup stops in the decreased windows are the one aspect I find out to take away from the overall interest of the creating.Nice little NOLA street. genie….building signs

The Delacroix Corp owns marshland in St Bernard and Plaquemines parishes. It’s a wonderful building with the oldest working elevator in the city. The second floor is now renovated and houses a law practice, but keeps with the antiquity of the building and the corps fur trading roots.

@NOLA Family – thank you for the information about the gem of a building. I’m glad that it is being kept up and productively used. Could you say a little more about the “fur trading roots?” I’m really intrigued about that.
