L is for Log Cabin!!
SuperPizzaBoy and I came on this one last Saturday at Stuart Park in Tulsa. The cabin is part of a “Pioneer Garden Display.”
My favorite part of the cabin is the oxbow hanging on the side.
Can you imagine living in such a thing? My feelings about the good old days are like what my late grandmother said, “You can have the good old days, they were terrible.”
i need indoor plumbing …
It makes me feel cramped just looking at it!
My son is desperate for a shed – I somehow doubt this is what he’s after!
Would make a great garden shed!
It does make you question the “good ole days” doesn’t it!! Great to look at and enjoy the history as long as you don’t have spend long hours there! Love your shots for the day though!
It’s hard to imagine what those intrepid pioneers had to deal with.
I agree with your granny. But isn’t it great that we have these reminders of how our pioneers lived! I love learning about history this way.
We saw many homes in much worse shape this last week in Mexico.
Entire families were living in cardboard and bits of this and that.
Such poverty.
Our teams built 9 homes in 4 days!
The local Pastors chose those who would receive the new houses then our teens and adults built them.
That log shack is like the Hilton compared to what we saw.
I would never have survived the “good old days”.
Makes a great photo, or a painting, but living in it!! I’ll pass on that.
i can’t imagine staying in there for long hours.

It would be great as a storage shed. Too small in live in.
Honestly, I think that those of us who were children of the 50’s and 60’s lived through the Golden Age of America.
A good reminder to see how our ancestors lived.
It looks lovely, as long as I don’t have to live in there… 🙂

How do they make the log cabin? Fascinating, it seems they used no nails.
Here we had mud houses with logs under the mud… This cabin is nice

Yes it is! No better L word in the world! 🙂 Love this little one.
I am also fond of running water and flushing plumbing! It would be rough in a little log cabin but I am real sure this little shelter was a whole lot better than being outdoors!
looks like my mum’s chicken coop except it is made of planks.
We love living in our log cabin, though it is a little larger than the one you post about! I’m enjoying bringing a bit of the good ‘ol days back! To each her own, this is what makes the world go round, LOL!
