Friday Fences – Flashback

PICT0554

Another one of my Dad’s slides from the early 1960’s that I scanned during my recent visit with him. He wasn’t sure just what this was a picture of but I loved the log fence and the cabins. We speculated that the mountains in the background were the San Francisco Peaks in northern Arizona but who knows. I  love the mystery of it all.

love it…i wonder how it looks today? my grandparents had SO MANY slides. i loved to go over and watch them. sadly after they passed away, my mom and uncle fought and he has kept them all greedily to himself.

Another delightful look back!! I do love the log fence — but of course, I don’t want to be fenced in either! Your Dad did get some great shots back then!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Love those fences also and your Dad had/has a really good eye.
Like others, my husband had an enormous collection of slides and I’m the only one who can tell my middle-aged children where and when the pictures were taken. Perhaps when daughter next comes home, we should have a get together and reminisce?

Yogi, I knew right where this was….this section of land, especially the drive to the Grand Canyon area and seeing these peaks…amazing scenes.

    Great photo share and flashback.

I’ve seen quite a few of these lovely split rail fences in northern AZ and it does kind of look like the SF Peaks. It is a good thing to scan old photos before they get away, or burn up.
