Skywatch Friday – El Rio Verde

#skyviewers #sunset #clouds #skyviewers #tulsa #oklahoma

Sunday evening we had dinner at a north Tulsa Mexican Food restaurant (El Rio Verde for those who want to know, a great place, in a not so great part of town). Afterward we were chatting on the sidewalk and I noticed the colorful sunset so I pulled out my trusty employer provided Pantech generic android phone (that my employer got for free from AT&T) and got up on my tiptoes and reached over the chain link fence and shot the pic in HDR mode (whatever that is) in between the strands of barbed wire (pronounced “bobbed wire” here in Oklahoma, just so you know.)

Some shots you plan for and some shots just show up and wait for taking.

And a terrific capture of gorgeous, dramatic skies it is — glad you were able to reach over the “bobbed wire”!! Love it! Hope you have a great weekend!

Proof positive that it pays to be observant and even a smartphone camera can capture a great image, when the subject is this spectacular. Well done Yogi!

Another great picture from my very talented brother! You need to put a book together with some of the pictures you’ve taken.

I think if I attempted to paint that sky, I would be told to “redo” it as it looks so surreal. Fantastic.

Bobbed wire is a fun name for something so lethal.

Definitely a spectacular capture Yogi – well done! I’m fascinated by the vertical line down the centre separating vivid colours from the greyed out look and wonder how this came about?

Beautiful sunset! Ha! Oklahoma words, yes there are a few special to this area. El Rio Verde looks like the place to go for some really good food! Thanks for sharing!

What an absolutely stunning sunset! Beautiful capture, thank goodness for that employer provided free phone. 😀

Thank you for your encouraging comment, my best to you and your father.

What a hellva great image!! Viva the cell phone camera. They say the best camera you have is the one you are carrying with you — you sure proved that.

HDR is high density resolution – I believe. The colours of this sunset are fabulous. I love how they stretch across the sky and seem to touch the ground.
