Beating the Heat here in the Sooner State – and No More Boob Money

Turkey Mountain

Well guess what? I will tell you what, it is summertime in Oklahoma and it is hot. It is always amazing to me when people are surprised by that.

I think this sign at my liquor store is hilarious. I’ve seen people pull money of socks, shoes, bras, and underwear to pay for their pints. No more at this place. No Boob Money!!!

Our son is spending lots of time at the pool this year. I haven’t been once. Bummer.

During my weekly jaunt on Turkey Mountain I found a couple sharing a hammock on the blue trail. Nothing inappropriate, they were just talking and enjoying each other’s company. This is the second time I have seen people do that and I think it is a great idea. Goodness knows there are enough trees to hang a hammock on up on the mountain.

Our poor little dachsund mix Ginger is cutting accusing eyes at us. She had her teeth cleaned yesterday and didn’t like it.

Heather and I went to parents orientation at Tulsa Community College Metro campus last night. Lots of good information and a bonus rainstorm afterward.

So what’s up with you? Have you hung out at the pool yet this summer? Are you outraged at the ban on boob money?

What a catchy title, Alan! No, I have never paid with boob money, but I don’t blame the store for the ban. Of course, I guess people could pull it out just before going in (gross). I’ve always wanted to see what one of these camping hammocks looks like. I know hikers use them on the CO Trail instead of carrying a tent. Happy 4th to you and Family!

Good grief, I never even heard about boob money in my whole long life, but now I can’t wait to ask Bill if he’s ever seen it… (or on second thought do I even want to know that?) People here in Eugene Oregon think it’s terribly hot — with highs in the low 80s and a light breeze. That’s winter temperatures for us Floridians. (Glad we’re here — it feels great!)

It’s been warm here in NW Arkansas as well. Highs in the mid 90’s with a heat index flirting with triple digits. This is the time of year that I don’t start to mow the lawn before 7:00 p.m. The grass is too wet to mow in the morning and too hot by 10:00 a.m. I have been to a couple of pools to cool down though.
Yes, I can understand refusing payment if the cash is coming from close proximity to sweaty body parts.

Lol…”boob money”…lol….I loved that sign! We had a heat wave in Colorado. with temps to 100 degrees, but I was in NYC again this summer and missed it. It’s back in the 60’s at night and 80’s by day–love it!

We have community pools but not being a swimmer I hardly ever go. I did register to take my granddaughter to the wading pool and splash pad.

Have a Happy 4th of July!
