Weekend Recap – Picture Taking

Untitled

Hey, can I have two posts for a weekend? No, well I’m going to do it anyway. During our family get together I brought my “good” camera and just snapped away. Everybody was pretty tolerant of me doing that.

I like taking photos of buildings, and the woods, and trails, rivers, and the Gulf of Mexico and the sky and strange things that you see here and there.

But really people are my favorite subject. People are infinitely fascinating to me although nobody would ever call me a “people person.”

I sometimes think you can read a person’s story in their face, especially the eyes. The eyes reveal a lot of character.

And it is fun, especially when people will play along with you.

How about you, do you like taking photos of people?

You and I have way too much in common. I think because architects and engineers are basically introverts, no one would accuse us of being a people person. However, photographing people is very interesting too me. It’s one reason I like shooting sports and the primary reason I wanted to photograph the “First Friday” events in our hometown. A photographer once told me, 50 years from now the only photographs that your family will care about are those photos that have the family in them. Have a very blessed week.

A great group of people pics you have here. I agree with you about the eyes, my dad always used to say you can tell a lot about a person by looking at their eyes . I like taking pictures of people but have met a few who don’t like their photos taken over, so I enjoy taking candid shots. Some work out really well.

I’m not good at taking pictures of people and when I do remember the shots are usually not great. When I don’t remember I’m usually sad afterwards for not having pics of the people. You do a great job of people pics.
