Skywatch Friday – Arkansas River Sunset

River - Topaz Impressions

The Arkansas River looking west. It’s a real river so along with the nice reflections and textures there are logs and mud shoals and not to mention the bugs and mosquitoes this time of year but I don’t mind all that. It is very peaceful.

I’m linking with Skywatch Friday.

You have just proven a lot of people wrong. There are a multitude of “Old Tulsa” residents that would never have thought the Arkansas River would make for a beautiful photograph. When the city of Tulsa used to dump it’s sewage in the river and when the river would come out of it’s banks during the spring rains, no one ever gave a thought to it as a potential recreational space or a peaceful photographic opportunity. Nice work Yogi.

Alan, I like how the sunset colors are painted in the river’s reflection. I love the evening pastel lights! We often see them in the sky while sitting in the living room watching TV. The pink tinted clouds make me think of cotton candy every time, too. Thanks for hosting the SWF fun!
