Skywatch Friday – Autumn Skies

I love Autumn, what can I say. I took this photo at Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa.  I love this kind of stuff.

I was at Gilcrease to see their latest exhibition “Albert Bierstadt – Witness to a Changing West.” If you are a fan of western art then you need to come see this show. The above painting is my favorite of the show, “The Buffalo Trail.”

And this was a backdrop showing the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve near Pawhuska. So a rare selfie for you. Not that I did you a favor did I.

I feel bad so this is a photograph of the Tallgrass Prairie that I took myself years ago.

And with the resumption of standard time, I am starting to take photos of the sky from the office building where I work. I’ve taken lots and lots of pics from here looking off to the northwest. That is the Arkansas River in the distance. Sorry for all the reflections.

I am linking with Skywach Friday

Always enjoy the view from your office tower (although I wish we could stay on DST all the time — I hate that it gets dark so early). The museum and grounds — just more to make me feel bad that somehow we missed Tulsa when we were RVing.

Bierstadt is a great German name: translates to Beer City. If you love fall colors, a visit to upstate NY is warranted. My street alone has reds, oranges, and yellows…. but, you have one really cool sky!

A very pretty autumn scene there, Yogi! I love Bierstadt’s paintings. The Brooklyn Museum has a large collection of his very large paintings that almost make you feel as if you can walk into the scene on them.
Love you sky views from your office window — that sunset was worth taking photos of!

That’s a huge and beautiful tree! Love the approach of Bierstadt (and that whole time period in painting). Have been in Tulsa several times on our way to visit very dear friends of us, living in Miami, OK.
Almost forgot the sky – your last shot is my favorite because of the clouds – A great moment!

That second picture had me looking twice – I didn’t notice the frame at first, and I thought – where did he get a view of buffalo crossing a river – clever! It is a wonderful painting! And I love your sky shot at the end – such wonderfully organized clouds!

Great image set Yogi. There is a beauty to the prairie that few people appreciate and the veiw from your office building is always a delight. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.
