Skywatch Friday – Town and Country Skies

Monday I went to my first session as a Reading Partners tutor and I think it went pretty well. The first grader is smart, well mannered, lively and has a great sense of humor.

I read a story and then we went on a scavenger hunt and then I helped them with a book report. It took only about 45 minutes all told and I think we both had a good time.

It was a great way to start the day.

So great that you are tutoring. My hat’s off to you. My granddaughter is in first grade. Such a fun age! Beautiful shot of the moon… great detail.

First graders are so enthusiastic! Did you know I was a Reading Specialist in my other life? Scavenger Hunts are the best – reading words but moving. Also, the excitement of discovery.

So glad that your first reading session with the first grade went off very well. You will be having a great impact on the kids. Beautiful blue sky at Downtown Tulsa.

I am visiting with a cousin who is a retired first grade teacher. She misses her little ones (she never had children of her own) so much; says it is a wonderful age to be teaching to. My boss at work used to be a reading tutor when the company I worked for had a program where employees could volunteer during work hours, once a week, to tutor “at risk” children at the local elementary school. I’m also glad you enjoyed the first session, and hope it gets even better for you.

Applauding on your tutoring. Great images too, love the moon shot especially. I have never been able to get a decent one. I need to read up more.
