LaCorona Vida #3

Another day or two in the brave new world we are in. What a mess! I read that White Supremacists are using this to recruit new members. Great…

Meanwhile life goes on. I am still working from home and also trying to coordinate the last details on finances and health care for when I retire at the end of the month.

We met with one of Logan’s doctors. We didn’t want to zoom it so we went live. I hate the precautions but hey they are necessary, so we do them. Lots of people are abandoning them.

We started to go on a hike at nearby Lake Bixhoma. We saw these donkeys but abandoned the hike when we saw lots of poison ivy. PI is the gift that keeps on giving!! So we only got 1.3 miles in, better than nothing.

Heather and I are mad about these Keens shoes. They are comfortable and cool. We are spending a lot of time outside in them and we each have three pairs.

At least Oklahoma still has great skies.

We’re wearing masks, too. Actually, we were wearing ski buffs but now they’re too hot, so we resort to a square kerchief folded and tied bandit style when we walk. I have washable masks from Etsy coming this week. I read that most stores in CO are requiring masks now for entry. Bob also just read that some people are refusing to wear masks when store requires them and are getting belligerent and even pulling guns! What’s happening, Alan??? Meanwhile, we keep calm and carry on… Stay safe and well.

I’ve been wearing a mask at work since “19” made it’s way to the U.S. & it doesn’t bother me at all, better safe than sorry.

I’ve never heard of that brand of shoes but I’m on my way to check them out because I only do comfortable shoes.

    Love the sky shot!

I love those shoes! I have seen them several times at Bass Pro/Cabella’s and threatened to get me a pair.
Like most people, I am ready for this Corona virus to be over. While it is a terrible thing, it is not the first nor the worst pandemic that has ever happened and it won’t be the last. The frightening thing about COVID-19 is how fast it moves from low grade fever and dry cough to life threatening/ICU stages. Still, more people die from what we would classify as the regular flu or even drunk driving than from this pandemic. We do need to be better prepared to deal with such things because it will happen again.
Again, congratulations on your upcoming retirement. You’re going to love it. I suspect you will wear that drone out when this sheltering thing is done and you have all day, every day to become a top gun drone pilot. Yes the preparatory paper work can be pain trying to cross all of the t’s and dot all of the i’s but in the end, you will settle in to the best season of life. Enjoy. Have a blessed week.

I’ve ordered a couple of pairs of shoes off the internet that claim to be great for diabetic feet, but they’re not comfortable. Crocks work best, but it took some doing to get used to the rough soles.
Sunset like that make life worth living.
