Donkeys and and the Dirty Dozen plus One

Donkeys

I don’t know about you but this political situation we have where a President who was defeated in a free and fair election is refusing to stand down and is getting lots of help from some of our elected leaders has really got me down. Throw in this pandemic which is raging again and the slow stuttering pace of vaccinations and it is enough to drive me to the edge.

So what does all this have to about donkeys? Nothing really except I was going to have a post about the dirty dozen and one senators who are contesting the election and I was going to post photos of 13 donkeys. Problem is that donkeys are a democratic party symbol. Elephants are a GOP symbol but you know I think elephants are a symbol of wisdom to me, and besides I don’t have 13 photos of elephants but 95 of donkeys.

And besides donkeys are useful. Most of the ones here are guard donkeys that ranchers use to protect their livestock against coyotes and other predators. The dirty dozen plus one are not protecting anybody against anything. They are just scared of our sitting president.

And before you get too upset about this I need to let you know that I have been a Republican for 47 years.

Well a donkey is spiritual animals it is about helping out others. The beast of burden. I don’t recall Trump every burden him self for others.
And one thing the elephant is loyal, recall story of elephant and mouse.
I will be glad when the 20th of January and I got my finger cross for peaceful transfer of our highest office.
Coffee is on and stay safe

I’m with you. And although I do have plenty of elephant photos I would never call them republicans. Way to smart, gentle, and social caretakers for that. But thanks for the laugh and the cute pics of donkeys.

Alan – we certainly hit a new low as a country today, but I am putting the blame squarely where it belongs – our sitting President, other government leaders who continue to be loyal to him, and all those who have been brainwashed into believing “fake news”. Personally, I am calling my government leaders tomorrow and telling them exactly what I think about this.

I like your photos of the donkeys and your analogy. It certainly has us bewildered over here. I just read this – Trump’s political party affiliation has changed numerous times. He registered as a Republican in Manhattan in 1987, switched to the Reform Party in 1999, the Democratic Party in 2001, and back to the Republican Party in 2009……. interesting.
Wishing you and yours a safe happy and healthy 2021. And thank you for visiting my blog this week.

I had written a Rant as a Comment but erased it and decided to just say, this is a Day I predicted would happen, insurrection, a Coup and sedition… based on letting a deranged wannabe Dictator represent any Party and installing him as the Leader of the Free World. This has been over Four Years in the making and should not be coming as any Surprise and clutching of Pearls… History has shown numerous times what atrocities happen when Evil Men come to Power and then refuse to relinquish it… and sadly, they ALWAYS have a Cult-like Following that they manipulate and use as their disposable props. This Country is in real trouble from within, Pandora’s Box can’t be easily shut… it’s not like the World and our Adversaries aren’t watching.

First, forgot above to say thank you for so much hosting SWF esp with your computer problems. Second, I can’t believe after yesterday (Wednesday ) that I’m just reading and commenting like it was a normal week. But …I guess I could have said the same thing for the past four years. It was always all leading up to this. …….anyway, I like donkeys. But I also love elephants and the color red and I feel like both have gotten a terrible bad rap lately. They should not have to be symbols for the horror.
