Weekend Reflections – Gulf Shores

IMG_6309

Its that season, we are trying to figure out where to go on vacation this year. This pic is from our vacation last year to the Redneck Riviera of Gulf Shores, Alabama. We had a great time. This year SuperPizzaBoy wants to go to Washington, D.C. Are there any beaches in the D.C. area?

Where are you going (or have already gone) on vacation this year? Do you have any tips for me?

Terrific reflections for the day!! Haven’t been to DC in a long time, but I surely don’t think you’ll enjoy their weather this year!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Panama City Beach/Destin, FL. is a great beach area. There is also a naval aviation museum close by that SuperPizza Boy would love.

Thanks for the correction to my Skywatch Friday photo. We were at the Convention Center on Wednesday. When we drove by the OneOk building, I was reminded who worked there. Maybe we will get together one of these days.

I’m with SPB, DC is such a wonderful summer vacation.

We have already gone on vacation. We spent a few days in San Antonio. It was really fun.

I’m trying to swing a few days down on the Texas Gulf, but I”m not sure that it will work out. I’m still trying. Love the beach!!!!

There are tons of neat things in the many facets of the Smithsonian Museums. SPB might reach saturation pretty quick though. No nice beaches are close however. There are beaches on the Delaware coast and New Jersey has some beaches but nothing to touch Gulf Shores. Atlantic City has a big amusement park and lots of attractions along the board walk. Bring back some saltwater taffy. Have fun.

Don’t know of any beaches by the DC area. I suppose you can drive to Chesapeake Beach in Virginia. Although not a beach, SPB might enjoy a boat cruise on the Potomac. DC is super humid this time of year, but there are all those cool indoor museums I’m sure you both will love.

    Neat reflection shot!

Summer vacation? Well, I prefer the great outdoors but hey, if SPB wants to go to D.C. then I think that’s where I’d go. :))

DC? I doubt there’s much swimming near that amazing swamp. Just a few too many crocs in the area.

On our way through between NC and CT, we’re going to stop at the Marine Corps museum in Quantico. I’ve driven past it for years, and the kids in NC give it high marks. Might be worth it: http://www.usmcmuseum.org/index.asp
