It is time for our annual vacation. Every year we think stuff like “Maybe we should go to Washington, D.C. or New York City and do something cultural. Are you kidding me!
After a year of accruals, flashes, and forecasts, and three plans, yeah I want to go to Washington during the hottest part of the year and walk around. Nooooooooooooo!! I can do that at home. Give me the beach where I can get some sand between my toes.
The trouble is that the drive from the three year plans, accruals, and forecasts involves a gut busting drive between Tulsa and the Red Neck Riviera. So we did most of that today. We drove through Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Okie politicians love Mississippi because no matter what the Tea Partiers do to destroy Oklahoma’s public schools and infrastructure there is no way that they can match what Mississippi has done to themselves. So we are hardly ever in last place.
I do love the Yazoo City McDonald’s though. What great colorful arches against a great sky. I mean we never eat at McDonald’s but their restrooms are always clean. I have to admit that I think their coffee is pretty good and I love their sausage biscuits but I’m the only one who can eat gluten in my household so it is not a happening thing on a trip. Anyways, we are in Jackson, Mississippi tonight and tomorrow I’m going to have sand between my toes.

Happy vacation . I love sunshine and beaches. But you knew that already. You changed your blog while we were traveling. I like it. We always stop ay Mickey D’s when were on road trips. Because their bathrooms are clean and their lattes are good and (relatively) inexpensive. Haven’t ordered anything else there for half a century! …well, maybe a quarter-century. Enjoy the beach!

I’m intrigued!!
I have to admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of the beach. I do like the sand between my toes, but not the saltwater in my eyes. I prefer the lake over the beach, but any vacation time is a good time as far as I’m concerned. Enjoy the time with your family. Have a blessed week.
I do like xand between my toes but I don’t usually sit in the sun. I prefer roaming the beach looking for photo ops. I hope you enjoy a GREAT vacation!
