One of my favorite trees is above. It has a very long branch that snakes horizontally and then splits. It makes for a great shadow.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><a title=\"_DSC0340\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/22376185563\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5833\/22376185563_37a314db6f.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0340\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is a bridge across a creek that makes a great shadow also.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a title=\"_DSC0326\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/22984222302\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/602\/22984222302_051cce2b58.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0326\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">American Hippo by<a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnkearneysculptor.com\/#home\" target=\"_blank\"> John Kearney<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>There is this car bumper sculpture of a hippo. For this I used the &#8220;In Camera HDR&#8221; function on my Nikon. I had an &#8220;aha moment&#8221; while working in the gardens on how it is supposed to work. This sculpture was kind of lost in the shadows and the HDR was able to pull it out so we can see it.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 343px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a title=\"_DSC0342\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/22376145933\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5731\/22376145933_c3b56a7fd8.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0342\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201cNegative Tree\u201d by <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Menashe Kadishman\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Menashe_Kadishman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Menashe Kadishman<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>This is one of my favorite sculptures in the Philbrook Gardens but it is a bear to photograph on the shady side which is what I wanted to do because I wanted to put a real tree inside the negative space. The HDR function has maybe five settings so what the heck, lets max it out and I did. Maybe next time I&#8217;ll back it off a little bit. Maybe not though. Moderation in all things is itself excessive is what I say.
