{"id":10410,"date":"2015-12-15T05:32:48","date_gmt":"2015-12-15T11:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/?p=10410"},"modified":"2015-12-14T18:06:42","modified_gmt":"2015-12-15T00:06:42","slug":"brooklyn-starring-saoirse-ronan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogisden.us\/?p=10410","title":{"rendered":"Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/15syDwC000k?rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It was Heather&#8217;s birthday and she picked out a movie for us to see and it is a good one. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brooklyn-themovie.com\/#home\" target=\"_blank\">Brooklyn<\/a>, starring <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1519680\/?ref_=tt_cl_t1\" target=\"_blank\">Saoirse Ronan<\/a> as Eilis Lacey, an young Irish woman, who emigrates to America as there are very few prospects for her in post World War II in her home country.<\/p>\n<p>Life in Ireland was hard but she almost withers away from loneliness in Brooklyn but is saved by a priest who takes an interest in her and later Elis on meets a guy, and then, well you can guess the general theme of the thing but there are some surprises and strong emotions and this is a most excellent movie.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Ronan is beautiful in an Irish pale skin kind of way. The cinematography is \u00a0absolutely gorgeous and the story is big hearted\u00a0and optimistic. This movie proves that it is possible to make a movie about the Irish that doesn&#8217;t focus on drinking. And if you are interested in fashion Eilis is exquisitely color coordinated, especially for a poor Irish sales clerk. And she has a wonderful accent.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the movie web site for lots of background information and videos. The movie is based on a book<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0026SCMNM\/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?ie=UTF8&amp;btkr=1\" target=\"_blank\"> Brooklyn<\/a> by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colmtoibin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Colm Toibin<\/a>. Apparently Heather&#8217;s book group read the book already.
