I&#8217;ve learned the term &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rat_rod\" target=\"_blank\">Rat Rod<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0067\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/25041981952\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1460\/25041981952_c2f16740fb_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0067\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Rat Rods are like hot rods only with no chrome, rough or nor paint, and just generally look kind of homemade.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0063\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/24529630924\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1632\/24529630924_bbd767df3b_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0063\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Wikipedia talks about Rat Rods being a reaction to the pretty show hot rod show cars of today that are meant to be shown and not driven.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0077\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/24529392544\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1554\/24529392544_c288d21f89_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0077\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Rat Rods are often associated with Rockabilly or Greaser culture. They are supposed to be a throwback to the hot rods of the 1930&#8217;s to 1960&#8217;s. I love them. They have that Mad Max home built slopped together look about them. The safety people among us are going nuts I&#8217;m sure. Exposed exhaust pipes, drive belts, and fans. Whoops there goes your fingers, please don&#8217;t bleed on the cars sir.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0058\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/24529713754\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1555\/24529713754_7f1b4dc0d4_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0058\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Apparently conventional hot rodders loathe the rat rods. I just love controversy like this. Reaction and counter reaction, yin and yang. I&#8217;ll be looking into this more.<\/p>\n<p>What about you?
