\u201cI am the Lord\u2019s servant,\u201d Mary answered. \u201cMay your word to me be fulfilled.\u201d Then the angel left her.<\/i> <\/p>\n

Mary said this after an angel appeared to her at a well and told her:<\/p>\n

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob\u2019s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.\u201d<\/p>\n

34 \u201cHow will this be,\u201d Mary asked the angel, \u201csince I am a virgin?\u201d<\/p>\n

35 The angel answered, \u201cThe Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[b] the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.\u201d “
<\/i><\/p>\n

Mary was an incredible young woman who had to grow up quickly. She received the astounding news from an angel and scarcely batted an eye. What was it like to bear Jesus, and then later see him die on a cross? What a servant she was.<\/p>\n
