She has a television show, a blog, and is author of several books and is married to the Marlboro Man. She opened &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.themercantile.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Mercantile<\/a>&#8221; a store, restaurant, deli, and cafe about three months ago and it has been popular since the start. So we have been wanting to go and finally made it on Friday. Logan went with us and was not near as excited as we were. He was kind of hungry for one thing and as anybody with a teenager knows, if they are hunger it is hard for them to get excited about anything.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a title=\"_DSC0048\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/32693127935\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/368\/32693127935_c7e0e664d9_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0048\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The restaurant has an open airy feel to it.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>We got in line to east first since we had a hungry teenager. The restaurant is wonderful and features many of PW&#8217;s recipes. Logan had the Marlboro Man sandwich, Heather had the Chicken Parmesan, and I had the Chipotle Salad with Steak. It was all great and the portions are huge!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0057\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/31882052933\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/582\/31882052933_8bb821f5cf_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0057\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Outside the restaurant, it was a little cold to be eating outside but this will be perfect in a month or so.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0059\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/32653613916\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/272\/32653613916_9d5caa6504_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0059\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>We migrated to the store. The store is perfect. They sell lots of home goods and you can tell that the goods were selected with care and are high quality and at a variety of price points. We didn&#8217;t buy anything but we sure enjoyed the merchandising and the displays.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0060\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/32315043890\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/754\/32315043890_b2e55bf294_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0060\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>My favorite was the Charley section. Charley was PW&#8217;s beloved basset hound. He took ill and had to be put down recently. The displays cases are beautiful and the whole thing is done perfectly. They have a bakery but most of the space is airy and open with a multitude of seating options.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0068\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/31852834554\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/1\/493\/31852834554_10b3e591d5_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0068\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I could hang out in these chairs by the big open windows a long time. I bought one of these fruit danishes. I&#8217;m not sure I can eat it, it is so beautiful. We&#8217;ll be back. My dream would be to come up on my birthday and have dinner at the restaurant and then drive up to the nearby Tallgrass Prairie Preserve and take some sunset photos. I could handle that.
