It is quite the party. It has grown considerably for the years and is a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-183354-16\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/37761925546\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4495\/37761925546_859cbb1470_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-183354-16\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday night they have the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fleetfeettulsa.com\/races\/2017-lederhosen-lauf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lederhosen Lauf<\/a>,&#8221; a three mile run from the festival out along the Arkansas River trails and back to the festival.\u00a0 I am always looking for a deal and it is a deal. For your entry fee, you get the race and a t shirt, sure, but you also get admission to the festival, a 16 ounce mug, a free fill of the beer of your choice for that mug, and a nice tee shirt. So sign me up.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-184438-18\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/37761958256\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4483\/37761958256_194113a1c2_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-184438-18\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The pre-race festivities included our mayor G.T. Bynum on the right. On the left is the lovely and talented Leslie who works for the company that sponsors the festival and is also a fellow Zumba exercise instructor with my wife Heather. Anyways, after the talk, off we went.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-193625-21\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/37139943163\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4503\/37139943163_6f361a5ee7_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-193625-21\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This is the halfway point, they had beer for us there. I don&#8217;t know what kind it was but it was good.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-200508-22\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/37139949843\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4493\/37139949843_2799b95378_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-200508-22\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>And then we finished so I took my stein and had it filled with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paulaner.com\/us\/products\/oktoberfest-beers\/oktoberfest-wiesn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn<\/a>. it is my new favorite beer. I am usually not much for lagers but this one is great. It may be my favorite beer ever.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-205933-24\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/23957754448\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4493\/23957754448_be146fa37a_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-205933-24\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I also had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beeradvocate.com\/beer\/profile\/142\/99\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spaten Optimator<\/a>. I drank this back in the bad old days when Tulsa was a wasteland for beer. It was good but a little sweet.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-180058-1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/37548860410\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4509\/37548860410_8c76b90136_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-180058-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I got me some schnitzel and sides for dinner.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-182850-12\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/37100107244\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4468\/37100107244_8b1b4b18e9_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-182850-12\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>And listened to a band playing decent rock and roll covers. I am not much for German music so I stay away from the big main tents.<\/p>\n<p>The race was great. Well organized, nice well marked course, beer on the course, beer after the race, fun before, during, and after the race. So check, check, double or triple check, check and check. Plus<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"20171019-201230-23\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/37139958973\/in\/datetaken\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4463\/37139958973_3582b2cd84_z.jpg\" alt=\"20171019-201230-23\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>They posted the results on paper (I was fourth out of six in my age group) and on the internet. Immediately and right away.<\/p>\n<p>A big thank you to the sponsors, the race director, the army of volunteers, and my fellow participants, and the brewers!!
