It is the Bristow Wildflower Run. I had heard that it was a nice race and so I decided to check it out even though I was not running it, I was going to walk it.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a title=\"20180512-084524-11\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/42067714921\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/911\/42067714921_dc47facf29_z.jpg\" alt=\"20180512-084524-11\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">I love what I call &#8220;Working Man&#8217;s Trucks.&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I had never been to Bristow before and I was surprised. It is a really nice little town.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a title=\"20180512-084809-12\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/40260644450\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/948\/40260644450_b8a0ce21fe_z.jpg\" alt=\"20180512-084809-12\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">I loved the store fronts. Bristow&#8217;s downtown seems to be thriving.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The race is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taboulehfest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bristow Tabuleh Fest<\/a>. I didn&#8217;t know it until I moved to Tulsa years ago and I still don&#8217;t quite understand it but there is a big thread\u00a0 of Lebanese culture all through northeast Oklahoma. There are several good Lebanese restaurants in Tulsa. Anyway the race started and ended downtown in among all the booths and activities for the Tabuleh Fest.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a title=\"20180512-092614-18\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/40268024880\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/825\/40268024880_2aa98f6cff_z.jpg\" alt=\"20180512-092614-18\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bristow&#8217;s city park is spectacular.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The fun sounded and off we went. Or rather off they went as I was back walking with the grandmothers until they left me in their dust. The race route goes through some nice neighborhoods and on to a huge park with a lake with the banks covered with wildflowers. Thus the name of the race.<\/p>\n<p>We looped back to downtown and finished the race, well behind the grandmothers I should add. I didn&#8217;t win anything, but I had a good time and will be back.<\/p>\n<p>The race hit all the check marks.<\/p>\n<p>Nice T shirt, check, and lots of tshirts for everybody, double check.<br \/>\nReasonable price &#8211; only $23 check<br \/>\nCommunity participation &#8211; there were lots of people cheering us on. Even me, eating the grandmother&#8217;s dust, &#8211; triple check<br \/>\nRefreshments &#8211; yep, lots of water, bananas, orange quarters, check, check, check.
