{"id":11863,"date":"2018-06-08T11:15:05","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T16:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/?p=11863"},"modified":"2018-06-08T11:15:05","modified_gmt":"2018-06-08T16:15:05","slug":"tulsas-top-of-the-town-2018-exploring-tulsas-notable-buildings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogisden.us\/?p=11863","title":{"rendered":"Tulsa&#8217;s &#8220;Top of the Town 2018&#8221; &#8211; Exploring Tulsa&#8217;s Notable Buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"_DSC0682-Edit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/27793631227\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1760\/27793631227_22974fdbe6_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0682-Edit\" width=\"640\" height=\"616\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Thursday night Heather and I attended a fund raiser &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/csctulsa.org\/top-of-the-town\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Top of the Town<\/a>&#8221; in downtown Tulsa benefiting\u00a0 the <a href=\"https:\/\/csctulsa.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Service Council<\/a> of Tulsa, a social services organization<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0670-Edit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/41944164934\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1760\/41944164934_87d3d1a82f_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0670-Edit\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>So you pay some money, you get a wrist band, and you get access to some cool buildings downtown that are not public. So we got to see some really neat rooftop patios, and a deluxe apartment and other spaces. They had some kind of either drink or food or both at each place.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"New Petroleum Club office topaz edit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/41762477565\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1760\/41762477565_5169dda7b0_z.jpg\" alt=\"New Petroleum Club office topaz edit\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This is the old Petroleum Club. It went defunct years ago and now some internet based company ripped out the flooring, ceilings, wall coverings, put in some funky lights and miles of tables. Cool, trendy, yes and I think a comment on where our society and culture is going. Things are changing, whether we want them to or not is what I say.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0684-Edit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/42662487581\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1742\/42662487581_4a414fe8da_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0684-Edit\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>We got to go into somebody&#8217;s private apartment in another building. I fell in love with the place. I loved this cozy space in the corner with the big windows. We have three dogs though who are thoroughly spoiled and like going outside a bunch to do their business and give the neighbors a good barking. And books, the people that live there are readers, reading decent books.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0685-Edit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/27793878797\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1738\/27793878797_efa03602a6_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0685-Edit\" width=\"484\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>And from the living space you open a big double door into an office suite. How nice is that!! I don&#8217;t know though, that may not be enough space.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"_DSC0676\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/28789204648\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1742\/28789204648_6fb12d4a83_z.jpg\" alt=\"_DSC0676\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>One of the neat things about Top of the Town is that from one party you could see the other parties going on. We attended all of them, except for the VIP venue. I worked in the building up until 19 years ago.
