We went on a short, flat hike, of about 2.3 miles on a little Island next to the Colter Bay visitor center and the Jackson Lake marina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/27Wemdo\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/1867\/42620528390_9aa161f2b9.jpg\" alt=\"Colter Bay (5 of 5)\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a nice mixture of shoreline and woods. I was able to get a few photos of some of the wildflowers in the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/29AJFbd\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/1895\/43712634044_9c4b80f2ec.jpg\" alt=\"Colter Bay (4 of 5)\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I like old dried out tree trunks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/NyAGoA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/1899\/30561308878_b881c7bd08.jpg\" alt=\"Colter Bay (6 of 5)\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We found some berries including these. Bears eat berries as well so even though we were close to the visitor center we stayed aware of what was going on around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2aBMj4m\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/1865\/44380821602_766ef37d73.jpg\" alt=\"Colter Bay (1 of 1)\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shoreline was beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2aBKNHQ\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/1886\/44380527802_63e5b6b1ee_c.jpg\" alt=\"Colter Bay (3 of 5)\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And here is my sister, the Park Ranger, Ellen taking a break. I felt guilty taking up all of her three days off. But we had fun. <a href=\"http:\/\/ellensnewblog.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Check out her blog.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/27WqbaL\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/1855\/42622640830_2461caea1e.jpg\" alt=\"Tetons-Edit-Edit\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And across the lake the Grand Tetons. The most powerful and majestic mountains I have ever seen, even when obscured by forest fire smoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.garmin.com\/modern\/activity\/embed\/2945574933\" width=\"465\" height=\"500\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We mosied along taking over an hour for the walk. We both take lots of pics, and especially when you are shooting in\u00a0 manual mode, that takes lots of time. At least it does for me. I hope that you are not tired of my adventures with Ellen.
