I surprised this beauty on a trip to Mt. Rainier National Park several years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/mVN6CP\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3696\/13735903755_26d88a49b7.jpg\" alt=\"Donkeys and Drilling Rigs edit\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Donkeys are cool as well. This trio is on a ranch in western Oklahoma. Cattlemen like donkeys because they protect cattle from coyotes. They hate coyotes. They like treats though. An extra &#8220;D&#8221; is the drilling rig in the background. Its drilling into the Colony Wash formation. Yep, they fracked the well. All the donkeys survived the fracking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-flickr wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2cPFBMF\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4891\/45828222061_d112c8f854_c.jpg\" alt=\"20181108-130354-2\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The last D is Doodlebugger. Doodlebuggers are earth physicists who do the geophysical measurements to find formations deep in the earth that might have oil and gas. I found this sculpture in the lobby of a building here in Tulsa that housed the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Society of Exploration Geophysicists (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/seg.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Society of Exploration Geophysicists<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">That&#8217;s it for D&#8217;s this week.
