So this post is about losing shadows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2jCDiWe\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/50297787701_836614a2e4_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a photo from just a day or two before it was gone. It was an ornamental pear tree. My Forest Ranger Dad had been telling me for a long time, &#8220;Alan, that is one crappy tree.&#8221; I didn&#8217;t say anything to him but I was thinking &#8220;That crappy tree is the one we have.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2jCzQDX\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/50297110593_28bcf32ff3_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The crappy tree developed a crack that went clear down to the bottom of the trunk. You can&#8217;t get much crappier than that. My master gardener wife is planning on another tree, a better, tree to be planted in the fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I miss my crappy tree though.
