I helped to plan and implement a scavenger hunt on Turkey Mountain this past weekend. It was originally supposed to be New Year&#8217;s but it got postponed because of weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2mRc5QF\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51752498719_4e1972c000.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riverparks.org\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.riverparks.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RiverParks Authority<\/a> gave me thirty items to give away. Small stuff like stickers (people go nuts over stickers these days) and key chains. I conceived the idea of using repurposed cd jewelboxes and designed new covers and &#8220;liner notes&#8221; for containers for the giveaway items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2mVZWdC\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51806905964_2fae5a1428.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So late last Friday I loaded up my jewel boxes and headed to Turkey Mountain. My friend Laurie from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tulsaurbanwildernesscoalition.org\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.tulsaurbanwildernesscoalition.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition<\/a> helped me place them on different parts of the mountain. It turned out to be a good workout with about 5 miles of hiking involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2mVTcpb\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51805591252_25456af180_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We didn&#8217;t really hide them because we wanted people to find them. The RiverParks Authority also had people out and about placing bigger items like water bottles and tshirts on the mountain. They also had people adding new stuff during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2mVY6Cv\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51806547401_b669a874d8_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We hid one in the famous washing machine at a crossroads on Turkey Mountain. (It&#8217;s actually a drier but I get dirty looks when I bring up that fact.
