I&#8217;m in the habit of taking my Canon SuperZoom along nowadays in case I see anything interesting. It&#8217;s a lightweight camera than can really zoom in on things. So this is what I found on my ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2otb22f\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52816041388_38032d7d51_c.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2964\" width=\"450\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2ot8FYh\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52815587076_5665458546_c.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2963\" width=\"450\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I found two eagles about a 100 feet apart. I&#8217;m guessing that they are fishing for their dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2otb26y\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52816041638_48a9112cbb.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2958\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I found this old log with a bunch of turtles and some sort of bird. The setting reminded me of a song that goes &#8220;Fools to the left of me, jokers to the right.&#8221; Or something like that. <em>Thank you to Eileen who Id&#8217;d the bird as a Double Crested Cormorant.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2otaMCU\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52815996360_9c7e20b93a_c.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2960\" width=\"450\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inaturalist is not sure what kind of bird it is and suggests it is part of the cormorant family.  <em>Eileen ID&#8217;d it as a Double Crested Cormorant.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2otb27L\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52816041708_87c091f419.jpg\" alt=\"Northern Shovelers\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also got fuzzy pictures of some sort of ducks, or ducklike animal. <em>Eileen id&#8217;d these as Northern Shovelers.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2ot8G6X\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52815587521_72a9e985ab.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2954\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most of these photos were at the very limits of my camera. It would help if the critters would come closer to shore but I don&#8217;t think they care about me or my needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2otb2aw\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52816041868_1b31cb62ac.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2952\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then way on across the river I found these white pelicans and some sort of white waterfowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2ot9G5a\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52815782529_87903024d6.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2953\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pelicans are such unlikely creatures. So comical on the ground and graceful in the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So that was the highlight of my bike ride.
