As part of completing the Adventure Lab I came up on this thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2qqSmxA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54102675592_f7dd3e314f_c.jpg\" alt=\"Analemmatic Sundial\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>What? A Human Analemmatic Sundial. Analemmatic sounds like some sort of embarrassing medical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2qqY6qk\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54103795383_2e475084d3_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>My best bud Mr. Google tells me that an <a href=\"https:\/\/plus.maths.org\/content\/analemmatic-sundials-how-build-one-and-why-they-work\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/plus.maths.org\/content\/analemmatic-sundials-how-build-one-and-why-they-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">analemmatic sundial<\/a> is special sundial where the hours are arranged in an ellipse and hour pointer is vertical. A human analemmatic sundial is where you are the pointer. Also you have to stand on a different spot every month for it to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2qqYx8Z\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54103881899_c6daef7007_c.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Rest assured I was not up and out of the house by 8:30. The other part of this special sundial is that you have to correct for daylight savings time yourself. I thought it was pretty cool. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was not the first time I have ever seen a sundial like this. Tulsa&#8217;s Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area has one but it is labeled as a Human Sundial. Human is a lot easier for me to spell than Analemmatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nxkgFL\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52206755942_02146d8fa7.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been there eight years, just off the lower parking lot and still works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2nxqrbr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52207763441_c23b1c52a8.jpg\" alt=\" \" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It was an Eagle Scout project. God bless Eagle Scouts I say.
