It is about what happens when you don&#8217;t live your own life by reacting to your parents life. It is also about choosing to be happy or unhappy.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Griffin is one tortured soul. His parents were ivy league academic&nbsp;snobs, who couldn&#8217;t get jobs in the ivy league. He married a woman, Joy, who Jack&#8217;s mother dismisses because she hadn&#8217;t done any &#8220;graduate work.&#8221; Jack cannot decide if he wants to continue his present academic gig or return to Hollywood to write scripts for cheap made for TV movies.<\/p>\n<p>This book is about how he tries to resolve these issues in his life. This book isn&#8217;t comic like Nobody&#8217;s Fool or Straight Man but I liked it.
