One afternoon I wandered over to Dealy Plaza where President John F. Kennedy was murdered 51 years ago. The last time I was there was in 1983 close to the 20th anniversary of the assassination. Even then it seemed like old history. Not much has changed since then. The Texas School Book Depository is now a museum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/13894672422\" title=\"DSCN1830 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSCN1830\" height=\"480\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/13894672422_9ec8c41d88_z-300x225.jpg\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">You can see where the shooter set up on the sixth floor. I didn&#8217;t visit the museum. It was designed by Philip Johnson and was originally supposed to be marble but somebody made the decision to use precast concrete instead. I didn&#8217;t like the memorial last time I visited and I still don&#8217;t like it.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/13894758102\" title=\"DSCN1824 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DSCN1824\" height=\"480\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/13894758102_89431de70f_z-300x225.jpg\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">I remember the day he was murdered. I was just an elementary school student in Price, Utah and I didn&#8217;t understand why it happened but I sensed that the whole world had changed. I&#8217;m getting pretty old now and I still don&#8217;t understand why he was killed and I still feel that somehow the world changed that day.&nbsp;<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 15px; margin-top: 10px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zemanta.com\/?px\" title=\"Enhanced by Zemanta\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Enhanced by Zemanta\" class=\"zemanta-pixie-img\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/zemified_e.png\" style=\"border: none; float: right;\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was in Dallas on business last week.
