On the way back I stopped at <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gloss_Mountain_State_Park\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Gloss Mountain State Park\">Gloss Mountain State Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/7070586527\/\" title=\"IMG_0117 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0117\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/7070586527_2de3c8681b-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The big hill at the park is called Cathedral Mountain. I didn&#8217;t know that it had such a grand name or I would have taken a picture of it. I didn&#8217;t so what you get is this pic from halfway up the hill back down to the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/7070586443\/\" title=\"IMG_0116 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0116\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/7070586443_18b34c582d-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The wildflowers were out and putting on a show even though it was overcast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6924507888\/\" title=\"IMG_0119 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0119\" height=\"500\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/6924507888_fe5aef9a84-225x300.jpg\" width=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most of the climb actually had stairs. The last fifty feet was kind of hard.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/7070586647\/\" title=\"IMG_0120 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0120\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/7070586647_f7b6f1ee80-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I went up looking for a geocache which I didn&#8217;t find. What I wasn&#8217;t expecting was the many birds soaring. The wind was strong on the ground. At the top of the <strike>mountain<\/strike> hill it was even stronger. The birds were soaring. The effect was magical as they dipped up and down and all around.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6924508096\/\" title=\"IMG_0124 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0124\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/6924508096_2d120cd005-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As I walked the length of the mesa I saw more and more birds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6924508292\/\" title=\"IMG_0127 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0127\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/6924508292_2666a2725d-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was surprised when about 50 feet in front of me two full grown <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Turkey_Vulture\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Turkey Vulture\">turkey vultures<\/a> came out of the hole in cliff, took a look at me and took off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/7070586907\/\" title=\"IMG_0126 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0126\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/7070586907_cb6cc06139-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was a teenager, about half the size of the adults, &nbsp;looking at me with scorn before he took off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/7070587117\/\" title=\"IMG_0128 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_0128\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/7070587117_23abbaaf88-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I got close to the end of the mesa.
