He likes historical type stuff and I wanted to show him something new so we headed down the turnpike to Muskogee.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6394669385\/\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" title=\"IMG_7320 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_7320\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/6394669385_107606d767-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>First we went to the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fivetribes.org\/\">Five Civilized Tribes Museum<\/a>. It is not that big but it is powerful. It has displays on the five tribes that were forcibly resettled from the southeast USA to Oklahoma. No photos are allowed but they have a dynamite display on Native American Medal of Honor awardees from the Five Civilized Tribes. Upstairs they had an art show going on. Check it out when you are in town. Very inexpensive admission charge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6394663449\/\" title=\"IMG_7319 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_7319\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/6394663449_6ebd970cd9-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The building it is housed in is the original Agency Headquarters from the 19th century. Very handsome in it own right. Gotta remember to stay off the grass if you go!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6394677023\/\" title=\"IMG_7322 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_7322\" height=\"375\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/6394677023_75c860559c-300x225.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next we went down to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.muskogeeport.com\/\" rel=\"homepage\" title=\"Port of Muskogee\">Port of Muskogee<\/a> to check out the <b><span style=\"color: red;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ussbatfish.com\/\">USS Batfish<\/a><\/span><\/b>. The Batfish was a submarine that sunk fourteen enemy ships during World War II. Unfortunately the museum was closed but we could look at the vessel through the fence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6395006043\/\" title=\"Batfish Submarine by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Batfish Submarine\" height=\"286\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/6395006043_0ffe252170-300x171.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were some other things to look at also. I&#8217;m in the natural gas business. We are always looking for pipe. Our engineers can&#8217;t ever find any. We found some. Dad and I love looking at this kind of stuff.
