{"id":891,"date":"2011-09-27T13:08:00","date_gmt":"2011-09-27T13:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/?p=891"},"modified":"2014-06-15T04:57:34","modified_gmt":"2014-06-15T04:57:34","slug":"deer-capital-geocachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yogisden.us\/?p=891","title":{"rendered":"Deer Capital Geocachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over Thanksgiving on 2006 about five years ago, I along with son SuperPizzaBoy and my Father in Law, &#8220;Boompa&#8221;, placed a geocache at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildlifeheritagecenter.org\/index.html\"><b><span style=\"color: red;\">Wildlife Heritage Center<\/span><\/b><\/a> in Antlers, Oklahoma&nbsp;a small town in the former Choctaw Nation of southeastern Oklahoma. Lots of forests, rives, and lakes and very very outdoorsy.<\/p>\n<p>The cache is called <span style=\"color: red; font-weight: bold;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\/seek\/cache_details.aspx?guid=fb16e08e-7c25-447b-b9d9-7bb55fb21cbc\">Deer Capital<\/a>. <\/span><span>(Because Antler&#8217;s is the Deer Capital of the World, haven&#8217;t you heard?)&nbsp;<\/span><span>I had to keep pestering Geocaching.com to approve the cache. They like caches to be hidden, not in museums but they gave up under my relentless <strike>whining and crying<\/strike>, persuasive arguments.&nbsp;<\/span>&nbsp;I put a camera in the cache and asked finders to get photographs of themselves.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6187707966\/\" title=\"76800007 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"76800007\" height=\"332\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/6187707966_bee8620a9c-300x199.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There have been only 50 finders of the cache in five years and not too many took photos but I like the variety. &nbsp;You have crusty guys.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6187726410\/\" title=\"76800005 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"76800005\" height=\"500\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/6187726410_7038f5c829-199x300.jpg\" width=\"332\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And grandmothers with the grandkids.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/28381904@N06\/6187189801\/\" title=\"76800003 by alnbbates, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"76800003\" height=\"332\" src=\"http:\/\/yogisden.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/6187189801_d6b0ccbe79-300x199.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And some close knit families.
