Tulsa State Fair Skywatch

_DSC0272

I like to go to the Tulsa State Fair every year. I only spend about a couple hours.

All I do basically is take photographs.

As you can tell I like Ferris Wheels.

And I love this two story merry go round. They have had it for years.

Some of the ride parts are amusing, or scary. If I was a kid this would scare me to death. I don’t ride any of the rides. Nope, not a ride person.

At least this guy is smiling. Not for me though.

And I like taking photos of the food stands. I love this faux corner brick pizza place. Nope, not going to touch it.

Not tempted by Chicken City either. I love the design though.

Another Chicken place.

You know, I don’t even know what a funnel cake is. Nor do I want to find out. I generally get a corn dog. Kind of hard to mess that up. I only get one corn dog per year.

I like all the 4H and FFA projects on display. Someone restored this beautiful tractor.

So at the end of my 2.5 mile wibble wobble of the Tulsa State Fair I found the German Beer tent and had me a wheat beer, or two. Later on I got a corn dog.

For a more traditional skywatch photo, here is a crescent moon from a week or so ago.

Thanks for sticking with me. I’m linking with Skywatch Friday.

Love the photos, reminds me of how much I love fairs, carnivals, etc. Hopefully soon we’ll have them again where I live.

Your state fair looks like fun! I’ve never seen a two-story merry-go-round Our state fair takes place in Pueblo, Colorado. We haven’t had a chance to attend it as yet.

Your moon photo is stunning; there is so much detail. I’m so glad you added it. I don’t do fairs anymore, but you do what I sort of did years ago. Except there was one booth with Italian sausage and pepper grinders that was almost as good as back in Connecticut. I had to go there. I never noticed before how the food booths are covered so much in signs and colors.

I’m not a ride person either. I used to enjoy ferris wheels, as a child, but no more. Nope. Never. Child roller coasters, maybe! I like the fairs for the livestock barns, have since a little girl. Walking right in with the pens of sheep and pigs, etc.

I love the fair. My wife and I used to make three trips each year to the fair, one trip to see the exhibits, one trip to see the livestock and one trip to walk the midway. The midway was a great place to people watch. I suspect there are hundreds of photo ops there. I would ride a ferris wheel and the sky ride but little else. Like you, I limit my fair food to a corn dog.
