Sweetie and I saw Avatar the other day. I don’t really know what to say about it except that the Writer, Director, and co-Producer James Cameron has gone from King of the World to King of the Universe. How does one guy do so much.
It is a science fiction action adventure romance flick. It is well over two hours long but doesn’t seem like it. The movie is flawless in my opinion and will probably change the way movies are made in the future. We saw the 3D version and I strongly recommend it. The 3D effects in previous movies were intrusive in a “Wow, look what we can do with 3D!” gimmicky riff. In this movie, its just part of the movie.
As far as taking the kids. There were lots of kids watching the movie but we didn’t take our 11 year old and I think it would be much too intense for him. You know your kids best and use discretion.
Check out the official movie web site. The movie web sites these days have tons and tons of stuff to look at and do and all sorts of information.
I give this movie four stars out of four. You have to see it. I’m not sure that its the next Star Wars but it is a darn good movie.
Hmmm, I just don’t know. Everyone really is raving about this movie, but I’m so not a Sci-Fi gal. Sadly, I might just have to wait til it’s on DVD. It looks like it right up my hubby’s alley, tho. Love your reviews of stuff!!
We usually wait for the DVD but this sounds like it would be worth going to the theater for the 3D effects.
We loved that movie. We saw the 2-dimensional version, because well, we’re shallow people. 🙂
I didn’t know this, until recently, but there are some pundits punditing about this movie in a negative way, but to me its just a movie. And we loved it. We took our kid, and he loved it too. But it is intense.
We don’t go to many movies, maybe one a year, but I’d like to see this for the effect.
We are going to wait for the DVD, as I couldn’t do 3D without hurling!
I really enjoyed our lunch. Here is the start of Zhu’s long ramble through Central and South America. It is worth reading.

Sounds pretty cool. Maybe I can drag Steve out to see this one at the theater.
Well, you FINALLY visited me! 🙂 No wonder. You’ve been on a lot of date nights!
We’re happy to walk the dog and keep to ourselves. We anticipate freezing rain today. No problem…we can handle it!
Thanks for visiting My Muskoka !
I really didnt want to see this movie, but went anyway. I was happy I did. I’ll probably see it again.
