The other day I was outside with the dogs and I noticed this squirrel frozen in place on a branch.
I think it was worried about these crows who were on a wire in the green space behind our backyard. I had never thought of crows being a threat to squirrels, but what I read on the interwebs is that they sometimes will attack young squirrels but are hesitant about taking on grown squirrels because apparently grown squirrels will fight back.
I’m linking with Saturday’s Critters.

…the squirrels and birds are trying not to freeze in place here this morning and so am I!
Hello,
The crows beaks do look like they would hurt the squirrel.
He better stay safe!
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment!
Great photos of the squirrel and crows ~ hope the squirrel got away ~ ^_^

I’ve read that crows can’t kill and eat things the way hawks do.
They went after a chipmunk my cat killed, but they don’t have the kind of beak that can open thing up.
I have seen crows eat carnivorously, so I’m sure that squirrel was worried about seeing that Murder of crows watching it!
I think it’s cool when squirrels and rabbits crouch down to try to make themselves invisible. Did you see the two eagles in California lost their two eggs to a conspiracy of ravens? Why they both left their eggs unattended is a mystery. Nature is unkind.
Cute squirrel, it looks like it’s very intent on keeping an eye on those crows.
Those crows definitely look like they mean business!
