The dashing Forest Ranger above with the cowboy hat is my Dad. The good looking kid sitting on the wall with his Smokey Bear is yours truly. This is my favorite picture of he and I together. I always thought that Dad being a Forest Ranger was pretty cool. He worked his whole career in the United States Forest Service and retired productively in Idaho years ago.
He did all sorts of cool things like fighting forest fires all over the west, going on pack trips in the mountains, stuff like that. He also could build and repair anything. Most importantly, he was and is an interested and involved Father. What else is there?
Happy Father’s Day Dad!
What a great photo Yogi. I bet he had all kinds of great storys about his work. Hope you had a wonderfuls Father’s Day. =)

What’s the deal? This thing says I don’t own the identity? Hmmmmmm, I can assure you I DO
Good looks run in your family.
That is a wonderful photo. What a cool dad.
Yogi: That is really cool.
I love it when Bloggers post old pics – doesn’t matter what decade as long as it was 10 years or more ago. There is so much in this photo – a different time, black and white, cowboy, Smokey. So much here. Thanks for sharing. I’m sure – you must have been a wonderful son – you talk about your MIL like she’s divine.
Great photo of boy and dad. I think being a Forest Ranger is one of the coolest jobs around.
