Konvertible??? No, this week letter is K which stands for Karmann Ghia by Volkswagen. I have to tell you that as a youngster during the 1970’s muscle car era I sure did not understand why anybody would want one of these. I guess now that I’m old and dumb instead of young and dumb I can appreciate the styling and lines but I still don’t get paying a premium for a 60 horsepower engine. I just love the baby blue color of this car, the bright chrome bumper and the little turn signals.
I remember Carmen Ghias! My neighbour had one. Thanks for the memories.
I’ve never heard of a CG but I love the colour – not terribly masculine though.
i went to church with a older couple who drove one of these – the very same color. so cute!! i wonder where it is now? they are both gone. sadly.
great find. neat!! ( :
What I wouldn’t give to have a ride in that car! I guess as we mature, we begin to appreciate other things in life.

Wonderful post for ‘K’ ~ and excellent photo of the vintage Karma Ghia ~ I have always liked small cars ~ Enjoy ^_^
Sweet! (Both in the sense that I’d use it and in the sense that my grandkids would!). I forgot that Karmen Ghias was part of VW.
I guess this was supposed to be the poor man’s Porsche when it was sold, but I never understood the love affair with this car. Give me may Datsun 240Z any day.
What a beautiful classic car!
My dad had one of these for a little while. The sportiest thing we ever owned! To this day….
@Amen to that Driller.
I remember that car! Fascinating.

I had the muscle car but always wanted a bug and now want a bus/combie. Yet none would tow my RV.
I love the baby blue color, too. My first car was a baby blue VW bug. Of course, I painted a flower on the side to distinguish it from at least some of the other VW’s on the road. This Konvertible looks a lot more stylin’ than the old bug.
Beautiful baby blue!
Great choice for the letter ‘K’
Have a wonderful week!

love that color .. its so 50s
For sure baby blue robin shell . Love it.
I like the crome as well in front.
When I dated my hubby many moons ago at 16. He had a convertable with the tire at back then. Was a real eye catcher to have a wheel in back.
So I was in that year zone of oldies. Where I live now at the one icecream place about 10 miles away from where I live. In summer time on a Thursday night all the oldie suped up cars show up for show and tell. The public can go to admire the oldies and after sit and have an icecream cone at picnic table. Very traditional here in the Country.
This is such a cool car. Wish I had one. Roade in one from Iowa to Detroit and back long ago. What memories.
My Jr.High science teacher had a tan Karmen Ghia, he was 6’6″ and it was entertainment just to watch him fold himself into the driver’s seat!
He loved that car though!
Sharp looking classic car!
