Skywatch Friday – Mount Kilauea

Volcano Skywatch Impressions

Mount Kilauea on a nice sunny day a couple weeks ago. I love the dagger shaped cloud pointing right at the volcano.

According to our good friends at Wikepedia, Kilauea may be the most active volcano on earth. I tell you what, visiting the area made me realize just how alive this planet is. There is a definitely a fire down below so to speak.

Irv and I hiked across the giant caldron when we were there. It was so neat to see all the steam vents. There is definitely a fire down below.

Good to be reminded how “alive” the earth is, and what better than an active volcano. Interesting shot with the dagger cloud.

It’s been so long since I’ve been to Kilauea. I’ve been missing the islands. Beautiful photo of that sharp looking cloud.
