Scavenger Hunt Sunday – Body Parts and Mirrors Edition

It’s time for Scavenger Hunt Sunday again, so lets get to it.

Body Part

#snowman #ornament is that really his nose?

Sorry Ashley, I don’t take pictures of my body parts and if I did I wouldn’t put them online and I’m not runnng for office so I’m not going to text the pics, that  I don’t take, to other people anyway. And, I’m not going to take pics of other people’s body parts because most people don’t want their body parts photographed. So you’ll have to be happy with Frosty’s nose, although, I have to tell you it doesn’t exactly look like a nose either and that is all I’m going to say about that!

Wednesday (take a photo on Wednesday – easy enough)

#fromwhereisit #geocaching #running

Well Wednesday is the day I get a kitchen pass to go run after work. Sometimes I sneak in a little geocaching which means that I get a little muddy and dirty. But hey, I wasn’t the one that said Wednesday. Count yourself lucky that you can’t smell me late Wednesday after a five mile run.

Music

IMG_6118

Well we went to Guthrie Green in the Brady District Friday evening, see my last post, and listened to some great Jazz music.

Guess What It Is

Rosy Hands

Sorry, I’m changing this to “Guess How I Did This?” And them I’m going to spoil it for you. I use and love inexpensive film cameras. It drives a few of the people who read my blog nuts, but I do it anyway cuz that’s the way I am. So what I did here was I put my hand up in the sky and blocked the sun from the camera and took a picture. Then without advancing the film I took a picture of a rose bush. So the unexposed area that was my hand when I took a picture of the sun got exposed with the rose bush.  I thought it was a pretty cool trick. Of course, several know it alls told me that they could do the same thing better with Photoshop. And I say good for them. I don’t even have photoshop. I don’t even want it. (Although if somebody gave it to me, I’d take it.)

I guess that I could of used this on the “Body Part” section but I’ve already done that and so you’ll just have to be happy with Frosty’s nose, or whatever it is.

Mirror Image

Tulsa Lofts

Well, I’m cheating here also, and I don’t feel the least bit sorry about it. Here I took an image of a building downtown and then turned the camera upside down and took another pic of the same subject. I know that it is juvenile but I like the result. It’s like a building floating in air.

Here is another one I did of the music stage at Guthrie Green.

Guthrie Green Double Exposure

I love clouds and this pic has clouds everywhere plus the whole disorienting effect. It’s a pain doing double exposures with film cameras because you don’t know what you got until you get the film developed. I have digital cameras and software than can do the same thing electronically but I don’t like it as much as film. I’m a big serendipity fan. I just love experimenting and seeing what happens. Drives my boss crazy at work. Most people are not in the “What the heck lets see what happens” mode. You have to have a little fun though right?

That’s all for this week folks. I know that I have a lot of fun with Scavenger Hunt Sunday but let me tell you it is my favorite because of the creativity involved. The other bloggers that participate are some of the best photographers on the internet and what they do just blows me away.

Some days I think you get more creative results without PhotoShop than many people do with the program. The mirror images are just wonderful.
The only film camera that I own is my old Nikon N50 SLR. I haven’t used it in years. Maybe I need to drag it out and play with it again.
Very nice Scavenger Hunt Yogi. And yes, I don’t do body parts either.

It looks to me like you got some body parts in several of your pictures. I especially like the muddy leg. 🙂
Great creativity with your film pics.

I like the mirror image with clouds and the hand with the rose bush is spectacular.

The free program GIMP is known as the poor mans Photoshop. It is free and can do a lot of things, but it is not intuitive to use. But that would be right up your alley anyway I think. I used it for my last image.

Well, there’s a couple pics there you could have used for the first challenge, but I’m glad you didn’t because what you did was pretty darn funny.

I am blown away by the creativity entailed in joining the scavenger hunt meme.

Oh my goodness you slay me. First your writing is so much fun to read. Second I absolutely LOVED the hand/rose shot. I had no idea you could do that with a film camera (at least on purpose). You were so creative with the prompts. It was just plain fun stopping by.

My favourite subject and your words are first class: 10/10 all round for your efforts here. What appeals to my sense of humour is that you cheat and that takes a whole lot of guts to do that (and admit it). The best pictures, to my mind, are your upside down ones. Mainly cos I don’t understand how you did it although you explained!! I’m a bit thick in the technical department.

I really like your second mirror image shot. I think it is awesome, regardless of how you created it! I also like your “guess what it is” picture and when I saw it as your thumbnail I actually thought it was for body part.
