Sometimes it is kind of hard to see but I hope that everybody has a Great Thanksgiving Day.

My Son, SuperPizzaBoy and I were attending a function at a local elementary school a couple weeks ago during a beautiful Oklahoma Autumn day under a blue sky when we discovered this tree. I told him that it was a Whomping Tree, kind of like the Whomping Willow in the Harry Potter books.
SPB doesn’t believe a word I say any more, hasn’t in years. He just walks up to the tree and laughs at me.

Looking west from downtown Tulsa. The Arkansas River in the foreground.

Walking around downtown at lunch the other day enjoying a very clear, cool, breezy day I came upon some ornamental grass putting on a show. They have turned color and are positively iridescent.

I was heading off to work one morning last week and had to pull off on a side road to take this purply picture. Skies like this are a nice way to start the day.

We took a road trip to St Louis last week for Fall Break. Our last day, while we were at the 150 year old Missouri Botanical Gardens, the sun came out.
I think the glass is by Dale Chihuly, but I couldn’t confirm it.

Last Saturday I found my new cubicle up in north Tulsa at Oxley Nature Center near the Zoo. Isn’t it a beauty?
I know the seat looks a little hard and it’s more of an open concept type workspace but I don’t think privacy will be much of an issue. It is a long walk to the restrooms although there is a water feature on the way.
My fellow coworkers are busy as bees. They have to be, some of them disappear for the winter.
One thing I’ll have to get used to is the narrow hallways. They are nicely decorated.
And I’ll save time, I won’t have to go far to find geocaches on my lunch hour. I’ll probably get tired of finding the same ones over and over. I’ll have to hide some of my own. The owners of this cache say it is on property once owned by an uncle of John Denver. Now how would they know that? Did little John run and play here as a kid while visiting his uncle? I’m digressing, sorry.
The landscaping is unique in my new office. You’ve heard of the bluestem grass in Oklahoma as tall as a man on horseback. Check this out, I wasn’t doing the old crouching down thing. I was standing up straight. Can your plant service match that? Low maintenance also!
So what do you think? Want to come join me? Visitors always welcome. Its only 15 minutes from my regular cubicle. We can have lunch! Bring it though, its a long walk to the nearest deli. You want your own cubicle. There is another space nearby. We can at least wave to each other.
Ooops, Sorry, thanks for reminding me. This is a good place for Skywatch pictures also.

I went for my weekly after work run on the Arkansas River last night. Autumn is here, the air is drier, the sun is lower. I love Fall in Tulsa.
What is Fall like where you live?
It has been raining a lot in Northeast Oklahoma. Today the sun came out and gave us a show when it set.

We are about to get rained out in northeast Oklahoma. When we don’t have rain, we have clouds. I’ll take it.
I don’t know about the sky, but I would love to have this as an office window. I love how big it is, the shape, and the color. The whole building is vacant, buy it and you can have your pick of this window or a couple dozen others just like it.
