Wrong Way Skywatch

Sunday Morning Sunrise
Some of the men from my Sunday School Class go running on the Arkansas River sunday mornings. They don’t wait for anybody, at 6 AM they go. If you are late you catch up, if you know which way they are went as they can either go north along the Arkansas River or sometimes they will go east along the Creek Turnpike.

Well, I got there late last Sunday. Usually they go north, that day they went east. I didn’t know that. I played the odds, I went north. So I was by myself. I almost always take my camera on these runs but when I run with the guys I never take pictures. My sorry little slow butt would be left behind. Sunday, it soon became apparent  that they went the other way so I took my time and took a few picture including the one above. I missed the company, but I enjoyed taking the pictures.

Afterwards I still had coffee with them at Starbucks, which is what I like best of all.

Skywatch Friday – It’s Hot and that’s Cool

I went on a four mile run on the Arkansas River here in Tulsa last Monday. It about killed me. It was close to 100 degrees. The sun was out even after work. At least it was breezy. I came to a fountain on the river where and caught some droplets. I also caught a photograph.

The reflections and the refractions made the sun look even bigger. But at least I was cooler.

Wednesday night Sweetie and I went bike riding. It was still warm, but not as bad.

Skywatch Friday – Bike Ride

Sweetie and I went on a bike ride recently one evening. I kept stopping to take pictures. She left me behind! I had the keys to truck though. So I didn’t have to ride in the dark all the way home. 😉

Early Morning Skywatch

Last week I ran for 4 miles early one morning as the sun rose and the moon set.

Sorry for the shaky image, looking to the east as I start at dark thirty A.M.

Moon was setting in the west.

End of the Run!

Skywatch Friday – Oklahoma Edition

The storms have been rolling through northeast Oklahoma yesterday and today. Scary skies followed by cool, clean, dry air. The bonus is no tornadoes out of these storms, yet.

Below is yesterday afternoon, from my office window about an hour before I left work to go for a run on the Arkansas River. Pretty scary uh? If you click on the picture you can spot the sun’s disk.

This is a little more than an hour later about 20 minutes into my run. All nice and sunny. ( I love crepe myrtles.)
Below is about a half hour later. Perfect weather for running.

This is on the drive home. I pulled off into a parking lot.

This morning, it started all over again. Storms and then rapid clearing. I had to run out of the building at 10:30 this morning to get this picture. The storm is moving roughly right to left. Dark skies, heavy rain, followed by nice cool air following.

It is supposed to be way over 100 degrees on Saturday. Coming to Oklahoma for a visit?
