To the right a brand new hotel in downtown Tulsa. Lots of hotels have been completed the last several years and they all seem to be doing well. The tall building kind of in the middle is where I work.
Earlier this week I went geocaching in Tulsa’s Mohawk Park. I had a pretty decent sky.
I turned around and this little doe was checking me out. We had a bit of a stare down until I decided to see if she would let me get closer. Nope, she had all of me she wanted and ran off.
I hope that you all are doing well. I know that Christmas is not a happy time for everyone.
Interesting contrasts in the architectural styles of all these buildings….driverless or parked cars???
The doe is very cute…
You’re right Christmas isn’t a happy time for everyone, so I wish you and everyone just peaceful Christmas.
Thank you for hosting Skywatch Friday.
Great clouds in those skies.
Pretty sky shot. Alan, thanks for all you did during 2018 hosting SkyWatch Friday. Very much appreciated, and here’s to a great 2019!!
Awesome pics.
Merry Christmas .
Greetings from India
Love the shot of the little doe
I look at the OneOK building that can only imagine what an imposing structure it would have been had the original 50 stories been built. Originally OneOK was to be 50 stories. Once the energy crisis and inflation of the late 70’s kicked in, the design was reduced to 36 floors. During construction, the decision was made to further reduce the building to it’s current size. The only problem was that all 36 stories of granite had already been delivered! There is a building out on I-44 between Yale and Sheridan that has a good portion of that excess granite on it’s exterior. I’m sure they got a very good deal.
Very impressive building you work in. Good shot of the timid doe. Wishing you and family a blessed Christmas. Enjoy your holidays!
Cute doe. Thank you for the “shoutout” of those who are not finding it a happy season, but it is a lovely thing to see all the photos highlighting Nature’s beauty. It helps the healing. Taking this opportunity to thank you for hosting this meme- I have so much fun with it!
Every time I see the OneOK building I wonder what I would look like and how the Tulsa skyline would differ if the original 50-story design had been built. The 70’s energy crisis came along and the design was reduced from 50 to 36 floors. During construction the decision was made to reduce the building to it’s current size. However, all of the exterior granite for a 36 story building had been ordered and was being delivered. That surplus granite can be found on several buildings in the area. Most notably was a building on I-44 between Yale and Sheridan. Oddly enough, although I worked on the drawings for OneOK, I have never been in the building.
Wonderful to see the deer!
Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year!
Nice tall office,no wonder you always catch nice sky shots.
Nice to see the building where you get those distant views, when you’re not working. 😉 I would like to live the joy every day.
Awesome light on the hotel! Always nice to see a deer, isn’t it?
Lovely varied skies — and the cute little doe. That was a nice thing to say at the end of your post — I never know what to say to people who I know are having a hard time this season. Or to those who don’t celebrate it at all.
Best to you and all of your family.
The first shot is especially dramatic. Merry Christmas!
Lovely sky shots and a sweet deer.
Gosh I”m amazed the deer stayed around for that long.
Lovely skies. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. (I noticed your comment about this season being difficult for some folks – I hope you were not describing yourself …)
