Reclusive mountain lion at San Diego Zoo. Sorry for the fuzziness. I had to use lots of magnification and focus in between the wire grids of his enclosure.
Oh, yes! I love that face! I don’t see it as being blurred so much as softened and I think the effect is terrific! Makes his face all the more beautiful! Hope your weekend is off to a great start!
Some of the animals seem to take to zoo life quite well, and the San Diego Zoo is one of the world’s best, but the big cats don’t take confinement well, not even with posh accessories. I agree with Sylvia, the soft focus effect is great, makes it a real studio-portrait kind of shot.
if we only knew what was going on in that mind!
Beautiful animal! Considering what you had to do to take the photos, they are very nice shots.

Can you imagine meeting up with a mountain lion while you geocache? One more reason to stay home in my pj’s.

Such a beautiful face.

The softness of the image gives him a very artistic look. It’s much better to see him in the zoo than on the jogging trail.
Great photos! He’s a beautiful creature. I agree with Martha Z, I’d rather meet him in the zoo than out on a trail.
It almost looks like a painting. Very cool!

Personally, I’m trying to avoid meeting this animal when I’m hiking my trails!
Such a beautiful creature. These are beautiful shots. Love your photos.
Several towns (Idaho Falls and Shelley) have had the big cats come into town this fall. Too dry – we need rain and snow.
Beautiful and wild! But oh so sad to be in a cage…
Very serious thoughts I guess.
Great captures, in spite of the fuzziness.
I just want to pet him… even though it’s probably not the best idea!
