Yesterday was windy and rainy in Tulsa so SuperPizzaBoy loaded up and went to the Tulsa suburb of Bixby to check out the Oklahoma Video Game Expo 2010. We walked into it and SPB took off inside, I yelled, “Hey Pizza Boy, get back here.” The lady taking the money laughing said “Yeah Pizza Boy get back here.” We paid, got our hands stamped and off he went. He kept asking me how the lady knew his name.
It was amazing. OVGE is about “Classic Gaming” which seems to be early 1980’s to early 1990’s. All the old systems clogging up your attics, closets, and garages were represented. Plus many arcade games.
SPB must have played on almost two dozen systems. Most of which he had never seen before. Games of all different genres. It was amazing to watch him pick up the controller and start playing these games. Young people today, they are amazing.
I loved watching him so engrossed and absorbed in something. He played the games until he was exhausted. Then “Lets go home Dad.” “OK, lets go home Son.”
Hey you know its Sunday, lets have a prayer for our kids.
“Whate’er I do, things great or small“
Whate’er I do, things great or small
Whate’er I speak or frame.
Thy glory may I seek in all,
Do all in Jesus’ name.
My Father, for His sake I pray.
Thy child accept and bless
And lead me by Thy grace to-day
In paths of righteousness. Amen.
I knew this was the right prayer for today when I saw an ad on the page for a web version of Pac Man.

Before the Wii, our previous video game was an Atari.
Love your photos as always and, as always, it’s such fun to see the expressions on SPB’s face! I know how much kids enjoy these games although I have to admit they don’t intrigue me in the least — sign of my age, I know! And I love the last line of your post! I also always love your sense of humor! Wow! I’ve got a lot of “always” in this comment, don’t I? Well, still true. Enjoy the your day and hope your week is off to a great start.

What fun! A lucky kid, and so is his son SPB.
Yogi, I love the one where I know you said, “Smile,” and SPB couldn’t take his eyes off the game (but he did comply…). This looks like a great expo for children of all ages.
Wish we had known about this! Why are you keeping secrets from us?
Sure made someone happy
