The other day I went for a run on Turkey Mountain. I pretty much had the place to myself.
I always try and see things I have not noticed before. This well worn birdhouse is totally out in the open and close to a trail I have traversed many times before and I swear I have never seen it before in my life.
The Arkansas River far below was running full and the trees seem kind of excited about it.
Late winter is the last chance for these rocks to be seen.
The most photographed wagon wheel in Oklahoma, maybe even the world!!
Two trees dancing!!
2.96 miles, I’m calling it three!! I’m also linking with Our World Tuesday
I have read that birds actually prefer unpainted, natural wood structures. Painted and decorated items give off odors that birds find offensive and rarely make their nest. This one looks to be ideal in structure if not in location. Have a blessed week.
My friend would make you keep going to count it as three. She was a slavedriver when we used to run together. I love the dancing trees photo. It’s so strange when you notice something new in an area you know intimately from many visits. We need to keep out eyes open for new things – never know when we’ll find them!
Find the last photo interesting.
Your photo of the two trees dancing looks like it was created with pen and ink. Lovely.
It sounds like you paused and took time to look closely as you walked along the trail. What a glorious day!
Lovely shots – especially that wheel and the lake!
Beautiful scenery. It’s always lovely to enjoy the quiet of nature.
A gorgeous and proud old tree that looks like an ink drawing.
Yes, when you walk through the world with consciously open eyes, you discover things that you did not pay attention to before.
My contribution
I’ve never seen that wheel before so glad you included it in this series.

Alan – love the first and last shot – what app did you use on the photos? Fabulous effects!
You are fortunate to have such a great natural place to return to time again and see new things.
