I’ve been going through old film photos and scanning them. Remember those days. You go on a trip, you sparingly took photos because film and processing was expensive and you never knew if you what you took was any good. Oftentimes you didn’t have time to put them in an album so you stuck them in a drawer somewhere and forgot about them. That’s what happened to these photos.
Back in the 90’s, Heather and I went to Park City, Utah for our summer vacation. It was a few years before the Olympics and things were still kind of sleepy in town. We went hiking a few days in the Wasatch and nearby Uintah Mountains.
It was summertime but in the higher elevations it was still snow.
There’s me with the map thinking we should climb that mountain over there.
The Wasatch Mountains are some of the prettiest mountains I’ve ever seen. Of course I don’t remember any ugly mountains.

Beautiful archives!
You have some lovely photos! I especially like the one with the reflection on the lake! Thank you! Have a grand week!
oh yes, those were the times. I wasn’t into photography then, but I surely appreciate the ease of digital shooting and processing.
Hello, I love the mountain views, Utah is a pretty state, lots of great parks. It is good to get these old photos scanned into your computer and archives. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
If it wasn’t for the photos so many details would be forgotten. The age of the photos is irrelevant the beauty of the mountains speaks for itself.
I loved seeing your “vintage” photos, Yogi. I do remember those expensive film days and the wait to develop film and hope the photos came out well. My husband has been slowly taking all our VHS movies to Costco to transform into DVD so our children can watch them again….another project getitng done during COVID time.
We haven’t visited our nearby state of Utah enough, We had plans to do so this year but it looks like it’s not to be. I’d love to see those mountains!
Beautiful images and lovely memories, priceless!
Have a woderful day!
wonderful views….
looks like you had a great trip – archives are fun!
A nice trip down memory lane Alan! Yes, I remember those early photographic days – am still working through the hundreds of slides taken on various travels, most of which will probably be discarded but some converted and saved!
Irv and I like going to Park City. We used to go quite often when the kids were little. You’re right, there’s no such thing as an ugly mountain.
Great photos and memories. You’re motivating me to go through my notebooks full of slides and negatives!
oh wow those snow topped mountains – awesome!
Thanks for sharing memories. Beautiful pics.
Lovely shots.
A great “blast from the past” Yogi.
Oh yes, I definitely remember those years! After I retired I made scrapbook albums for each of our kids using the photos in the trunk where they’d been tossed over the years. And one for us too. I even found a couple of rolls of film that had never been developed (probably because we were between paydays). And now we take a million photos of a tree or a mountain in case one moment is better than the one before )). ….. that was a beautiful hike and those mountains are spectacular.
Wonderful times, memory, and story. It is fun scanning those old prints.
Thank goodness for digital. 😉
